Children of the Mekong has been assisting children in Southeast Asia since 1958 Nearly 22,000 sponsored children and 60,000 supported children now have access to quality education. Children of the Mekong supports the construction of over 100 development projects each year in addition to the 10 centers and 78 foster homes that they manage. 60 International Solidarity Volunteers, the Bamboos, are sent into the field for a minimum of one year to keep track of our various projects. Children of the Mekong operates in 7 countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, and China.
